Program Requirements

Broadreach offers 70+ global education and skill-building summer adventures in 40+ countries for middle school, high school and college students. Each program is designed to provide hands-on experiences for students out in the real world. All students must have completed seventh grade by the beginning of the program to be able to attend a Broadreach program.

It is important to know that some Broadreach programs have prerequisites in order to participate. Some of our diving programs require a certain scuba certification level while some of our language programs require you have taken a semester or more of Spanish. Prerequisite information can be found on each program’s webpage at www.gobroadreach.com.

For most of our participants, the summer is a life-changing and exhilarating challenge. It is certainly different than home and may require some new responsibilities. Broadreach programs are physically demanding, and it is a good idea for students to be in reasonably good physical condition. We also encourage an atmosphere of respect and cooperation, as it is critical to the success of our programs. Students must be open to new and different cultures and international educational experiences.

To travel on any Broadreach program, students must also complete the Broadreach Medical Form and have it signed by a doctor to ensure the student is cleared to participate in all Broadreach activities. This form will be sent to Broadreach Foundation recipients at the time of enrollment in a program.

All students must have a passport to travel on a Broadreach program. It is important to ensure that the passport is valid for a minimum of six months beyond the end date of a student’s program. All Broadreach Foundation applicants that do not currently have a passport are strongly encouraged to begin the passport application process as soon as possible as it can be a lengthy process.
