YOUR WORLD JUST GOT BIGGER

Welcome to the Broadreach Foundation! Each year, the Broadreach Foundation works hard to help students like you explore the world, learn from your experiences, and challenge yourself.

Students interested in funding from the Broadreach Foundation must be applying for a Broadreach program. For more information on Broadreach programs, please visit www.gobroadreach.com.

Scholarships

The Broadreach Foundation has a General Scholarship Fund which is open to all students eligible to attend a Broadreach program. Scholarships can only be applied towards tuition. There are only a couple of full-tuition scholarships awarded each year. Partial scholarships are also awarded; however, students need to contribute to the remainder of the tuition not covered by the scholarship.

Applications for scholarships for summer 2024 are now closed.

Fundraising

Fundraising is an excellent way to show your commitment and desire to attend a Broadreach program. The Broadreach Foundation also believes it is an important life experience that will benefit you far into the future. We are here to work with you on developing a fundraising strategy to meet your goal by helping you find ways to connect with donors and encouraging them to invest in your experience.

When applying for a Broadreach Foundation scholarship or financial aid, it is important to understand all of the potential costs involved. Please remember that scholarships can only be applied towards tuition. All on-trip meals, activities and accommodations are included in tuition for a Broadreach program. All scholarship recipients will be responsible for the additional expenses outlined below.

AIRFARE

Round-trip airfare to the program destination is the responsibility of the recipient. Some programs also have required internal flights that take place during the trip. Contact the Broadreach office for more information about internal flights.

SPENDING MONEY

Most students bring $100-$150 on program for purchasing personal items and souvenirs while on program. We also recommend putting aside $20-$100 for travel day expenses (i.e. baggage fees, departure taxes, other airline fees and food while in the airport).

PASSPORT

All students must have a passport to travel on a Broadreach program. Ensure that the passport is valid for a minimum of six months beyond the end date of a student’s program. If you do not currently have a passport begin the passport application process as soon as possible as it can be a lengthy process.

TRAVEL VACCINATIONS

With a few exceptions, Broadreach does not require that students have specific vaccinations for travel beyond what the host country and our local partners require; we suggest that you consult your physician, travel clinic or the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for advice on any health precautions related to overseas travel.

Broadreach strongly recommends (but does not require) COVID vaccination for 2023 programs in general. However, we reserve the right to require COVID vaccines (as with other vaccines) based on the requirements of a specific country, partner or facility. We will update parents if COVID requirements for their program change, tuition remains non-refundable regardless.

NOTE: We will continue to require program staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for summer 2023.

ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS

For our sailing and diving programs, all sailing certifications and primary scuba certifications (PADI Open Water Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver and Rescue Diver) are included in scholarships. Additional fees may apply for other certification cards.

GEAR

Due to the nature of the activities on a Broadreach program, there may be gear required for the trip that students do not already own. Many programs typically require students to bring things such as hiking shoes, rain jacket, sleeping bag, head lamp or flashlight, bathing suit and quick dry clothing (i.e. active wear), etc.
